Brentford's on-loan defender Harlee Dean is hoping to seal a permanent move to the club from Southampton.
The 20-year-old has made 20 appearances for the League One club since switching last November from the Championship high-flyers.
Dean has been informed his Saints deal will not be renewed, meaning he is on the lookout for a club next season.
The youngster is enjoying first-team football with the Bees and hopes there is an opportunity to stay on.
"It's a massive step up playing first-team football rather than being stuck in the reserves, but I've really enjoyed it," he told the Hounslow Chronicle.
"Southampton won't be offering me a new contract so if the opportunity arose to stay here I would love to."
