England U21 international will be given time to recover from injury

Crystal Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne has undergone a scan on a knee injury. The 20-year-old, Palace's player of the year last season, missed Saturday's goalless draw at West Ham and will also sit out this weekend's visit of Peterborough. Manager Dougie Freedman is keen for the England U21 international not aggravate the injury and has scheduled a period of rest. "He picked up a knock in training before we played Watford and felt it in that match so we had a scan done," said Freedman. "It's nothing serious but he is a young lad and the rest for two or three games will do him good."
