Southampton and Burnley keen on Bolton defender

Sky Sports understands Championship duo Southampton and Burnley are eyeing up a loan move for Bolton defender Paul Robinson. Robinson is thought to be available on loan this month after finding himself down the pecking order at the Reebok Stadium in recent weeks. The experienced left-back has been omitted from the squad for the last few Premier League games, with his last outing coming in the FA Cup replay win over Macclesfield. This news has alerted a host of Championship clubs to Robinson's availability, with Bolton boss Owen Coyle happy to let the player go out on loan to get some match action under his belt. Southampton and Burnley are both thought to be keen on bolstering their defensive options and they see Robinson's experience as a valuable addition to their squads. Robinson is out of contract at the end of the season and as yet no fresh terms have been agreed with Bolton, meaning he could leave on a free transfer in the summer.
