Keeper set to return for derby clash with Portsmouth

Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis should be fit for next weekend's hotly-anticipated trip to Portsmouth. Davis' run of 88 successive league appearances came to an end when he missed Saturday's 2-2 draw against Blackpool due to a calf injury. The 35-year-old was badly missed, too, as back-up keeper Bartosz Bialkowski capped a nervous display with a dreadful error when he let Callum McManaman's shot slip out of his grasp and into the net. But manager Nigel Adkins revealed Davis was almost passed fit for the match and now has plenty of time to be ready for the south-coast derby, which would be his 250th Saints appearance. "Kelvin was close to being fit," Adkins told the club's official website. "The game is next Sunday so we have a week before that great game that we are all looking forward to."
