Dutchman considers staying put

Southampton loan star Jos Hooiveld has admitted he would relish the chance to stay at St Mary's. The 28-year-old is on loan at the Championship leaders until January from Celtic and he has made a big impression during his time with the Saints. Hooiveld was the match winning hero for Southampton on Tuesday as he grabbed the only goal of the game in their 1-0 win over promotion rivals West Ham. Now the Dutchman, who is not out of contract at Parkhead until 2013, admits he would be keen to prolong his stay with Southampton. "My future? My loan period ends on January 1, 2012. I'm very happy at this club and would like to stay longer," he told the website of his management company SEG. "But time will tell. I hope to stay fit, hope to continue to do well with the team and we'll see!"
