Lee Holmes feels his newly-promoted side have what it takes to make a big impact in the Championship next season.
Holmes is one of the few players still at Southampton from the last time the club were in the second tier two years ago.
"We need to do exactly the same as we have done this year," he told the club's official website.
"I think we have got more than enough to compete in the Championship and I know the lads are all confident of going into next year, setting some real goals and upsetting some teams."
One particular match will jump out at Holmes when the fixtures are released later this summer.
"Going back to my old club will be a massive one for me up at Derby," added the winger.
