Connolly in talks and offer for Bialkowski

Southampton have released 13 players, but are in talks over a new contract for experienced striker David Connolly. After failing to secure a League One play-off place this season due to a 10-point deduction, Saints boss Alan Pardew has started to overhaul his squad ahead of next term's promotion push. Pardew, who has recently been forced to contend with rumours surrounding his own future, has allowed 13 players to move on at the end of their contracts. Veteran defenders Graeme Murty, Chris Perry and Wayne Thomas are all leaving St Mary's, along with Lloyd James and Simon Gillett. Oliver Lancashire, Jamie White, Michael Poke, Jon Otsemobor, Jake Thomson, Kayne McLaggon, Tom Dunford and Jack Boyle are on the way out, but Bartosz Bialkowski and Ryan Doble have been offered new terms. Connolly's contract is due to expire, but the striker is not on either the released or retained list as negotiations are currently underway to keep him on the South Coast.
