Alan Pardew has moved quickly to make his first signing at Southampton by snapping up Dan Harding.
Pardew was only appointed as Saints boss on Friday but he has already swooped for the 25-year-old on a free transfer following his release from Ipswich at the end of last season.
Harding had been training with former club Brighton over the summer to maintain his fitness but it is the Saints who have secured the ex-Leeds man's signature.
The former England Under-21 international spent last season on loan at Southend and Reading and will be looking to get his career back on track.
Harding has penned a two-year deal at St Mary's.
