Southampton have loaned out two of their youngsters in a bid to accrue some experience.
Striker Leon Best has headed out to Yeovil until January 1, while keeper Michael Poke has moved to non-league Woking.
Saints chief George Burley feels the moves will benefit the pair.
"Michael has had a few injuries and needs to be playing so it's a good opportunity for him," said Burley.
"Leon and Simon (Gillett, who has moved to Bournemouth) are at a stage in their careers when they need to be playing regular football and this is a good chance for them."
