Southend have dismissed claims that Southampton have made an approach for their striker Freddy Eastwood.
Saints chairman Rupert Lowe revealed over the weekend that he was a keen admirer of both Eastwood and Swansea star Lee Trundle.
"We are looking at players like Eastwood at Southend and Lee Trundle at Swansea," said Lowe.
"They are being watched very carefully along with a selection of other players."
However, Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson insists that they have heard nothing from Southampton.
"We're not worried about holding onto Freddy at all," said Tilson.
"I'm not even going to talk about Freddy and I've not heard anything about this rumour yet again.
"Southampton haven't made any sort of approach and until they do that is just speculation."
