World Cup debutants Togo are looking into potential new recruits and have already drawn up a list that includes Valerien Ismael and Yoann Folly.

Togo overcame Senegal to surprisingly seal their place in Germany, but the Hawks realise that their squad lacks any real depth.

With that in mind, coach Stephen Keshi and his backroom staff are now looking into players with possible Togolese connections.

The main target is Bayern Munich defender Ismael - who would add some real quality to Togo's back-line, which is widely acknowledged as the weak point of their side.

Ismael is believed to qualify through his Togo-born wife Caroline and is now considering their approach, although that may provoke France into handing him a call-up.

Also being scrutinised is Southampton midfielder Folly - who was born in Togo, but has represented France at Under-21 level.

Togo are now hoping Folly will return to the country of his birth and the lure of a World Cup place may be too much to turn down.

Togo also want Auxerre's young defender Serge Akakpo, Abdul Razak Sadou of Chateauroux, PSG's starlet Jonathan Tokple and Kodjo Afanou of Bordeaux.

Afanou is also from Togo originally and had previously looked to make the breakthrough with France, shunning his homeland.

However, he is now reconsidering his allegiance.

"I am considering it, but there are many parameters," said Afanou.

"The selector of Togo contacted me and it left me a certain time to reflect.

"I will make a decision before the end of the year.

"Togo, it is my native land, the country of my roots, of my parents."
