Southampton manager Harry Redknapp admits all the top clubs in the country are chasing exciting prospect Theo Walcott.

The young forward has made a positive impression this season after starring for the South Coast club's youth team last term.

"I think he finds it hard when he plays wide to find space to get the ball," Redknapp told Sky Sports. "It's difficult as full backs can mark you a lot easier.

"He's got half the pitch to run into through the middle.

"His pace is so electric he's a threat to anybody so it's suited him to play through the middle.

"Oh for sure, everybody's after him. They are all going to be chasing him but the thing is he wouldn't be playing if he was at Arsenal or Chelsea or somewhere [else] at the moment.

"He wouldn't be getting in their team where he's getting a chance to play here so he's better off here

"He's come into the team and scored in two appearances so hopefully he can continue that form."

Redknapp also backed Ricardo Fuller to win over the boo-boys at St Mary's.

"He always works hard," said the Saints chief. "He scored last week and got a good ovation at Millwall so hopefully he's over that now."
