Harry Redknapp is frustrated he failed to bring in a new striker.Southampton boss Harry Redknapp has revealed his frustration at failing to bring in a new striker before the transfer window slammed shut.
Redknapp feels Southampton are lacking a cutting edge and he made moves to bring in a new centre forward in the final week of the transfer window.
Crystal Palace beat Redknapp to the punch for Clinton Morrison, while Leeds' asking price for Robbie Blake proved beyond Saints' means, and the St Mary's chief is frustrated he did not have the financial clout to freshen up his squad.
"Getting a front-man in proved difficult," Redknapp told the club's official website.
"We tried for Clinton but we were a bit out of our depth and he went to Crystal Palace.
"And we asked about Blake but Leeds wanted more than they paid for him.
"When you're only looking to pay £1 million it can be hard to find someone better than we already have."
