Tessem ready for Saints exit

Jo Tessem admits his time at Southampton is coming to a close.

Jo Tessem has returned to Southampton from a loan spell with Millwall but concedes his time on the South Coast is coming to a close.

Millwall's injury crisis has eased in the past few weeks and Lions boss Dennis Wise has decided those already in his squad offer enough cover at present.

Tessem arrived back at Southampton on Tuesday and will look to impress new boss Harry Redknapp, although he has indicated an interest in moving to Lyn, in his homeland.

''The situation is not dramatic for me. Several players have returned from injury early and we agreed that the coach should first play the players who are permanent at the club,'' Tessem told TV2 Nettavisen.

''The clubs that are interested have to agree something with Southampton before anything can happen.''

The Norwegian forward has seen opportunities scarce in the past few seasons and despite the club's change of management, is resigned to the fact his chances of first team football are limited.

''I've been away for some time and, despite being in good match form, I feel that I will not get a new chance at Southampton,'' the 32-year-old told VG.

''I'm getting old and will play a couple of seasons in Lyn before it's time to quit football.''
