FITZ HALL has been ruled out for the start of Southampton's season after breaking a toe.
The £250,000 summer signing from Oldham suffered the injury in a reserve game against Chelsea and will be out of action for three weeks.
An X-ray revealed a crack on the second toe of his right foot although a specialist has ruled out the need for surgery to repair the broken bone.
The news will come as a blow to the 22-year old as he hoped to win a regular first team berth with Gordon Strachan's side.
