TRANMERE SKIPPER OUT FOR SIX WEEKS

TRANMERE ROVERS hard-man Clint Hill will be missing from first team action for six weeks after damaging a knee ligament during Saturday's goalless FA Cup encounter against Southampton.

Rovers boss John Aldridge's injury problems have been compounded further with the news that Hill's natural replacement, Dave Challinor, is also rated as a major doubt for Tuesday's replay with The Saints.

Challinor replaced Hill in the 12th minute of the initial contest between the sides, but sustained heavy bruising to the foot during the match and was reported on Monday to be having difficulty in walking.

The man with the cannon-like throw will certainly miss Tuesday's training session and is rated as being highly doubtful for the tie itself.
