Benik Afobe wants Bakary Sako to stay at Wolves and insisted the striker's commitment can never be questioned.

Fourteen-goal forward Sako is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with moves to Aston Villa and West Brom, with the Baggies long-term admirers.

Afobe has scored 12 times since joining Wolves from Arsenal in January - taking his tally to 31 after 19 for MK Dons - and has formed an impressive forward line with Sako and Nouha Dicko.

And he wants the Mali international, who has been at Wolves since 2012, to stay at Molineux.

"He is a good friend of mine, since I've been here he has scored seven or eight goals so he's been an influential player," the country's leading scorer said.

"He is a fantastic player and we do know he's up at the end of the season. I haven't had the conversation with him about whether he wants to stay or go because that's something he, the manager and his agent have to talk about.

"All I know is he gives 100 per cent in training, round the changing room and matchdays. He doesn't say 'I'm off anyway if we go up or not' so I give him a lot of respect for that. He has never once said he's leaving, he doesn't say goodbye early.

"He is just working hard and he's like any of the other lads. I want him to stay, the club want him to stay but we'll have to see. It's Baks and his family's decision."
