Kenny Jackett admits Wolves need a sprint finish to ensure they keep their promotion dream alive.

The head coach knows his side must gain momentum ahead of Saturday's visit of Rotherham.

Wolves are eighth in the Sky Bet Championship with 15 games to go and Jackett is looking for a big finish from his side.

He said: "Wherever you are and whatever you do, if you've got a sprint finish you've got a chance.

"We need a sprint finish now. Luckily we are in position.

"We're within touching distance of the promotion places and in this 15-game period, where there are 45 points to play for, there is still a third of the season to go so a good points total here will put us in a position to attack the top.

"Hopefully momentum can build up, but it's OK saying that, we need to put up the performances that warrant that and can earn that, because the sides at the top of the division do look very good and quite incisive at the moment."

Wolves beat Rotherham 6-4 at Molineux towards the end of last season as they marched to the Sky Bet League One title.

But with a five-point gap to the top six to make up Jackett would take an easier game this time.

"As long as we win I don't mind," he said.

"As a head coach/manager you would take the win however it comes whether it's 1-0 or 6-4.

"But the idea and the attempt is to try to entertain and pass the ball well, play constructive football, create chances and play an exciting game.

"There's no point doing it if you don't get the results as well."
