Transfer news: Wolves may look to plug striker in January

Kenny Jackett admits Wolves may have to enter the transfer market in January with their strike options set to be tested by the African Cup of Nations.

Bakary Sako and Nouha Dicko are set to be called up by Mali for the tournament in January and February and could miss up to five games.

Dicko returned from a hamstring problem in Saturday's 1-1 Sky Bet Championship draw with Brighton to partner Sako for the first time in over a month.

Sako has seven goals this term and Jackett insisted they must ensure their forward line is right without him and Dicko.

"Bakary is a player we are going to miss in January and there is the possibility of Nouha going as well - we know that," he told the Wolverhampton Express & Star.

"It's about making sure that along the front line we've got as many possibilities as we can have.

"The good thing is that the transfer window is opening during that period and we have the time to do something about it.

"But on Saturday, we finished with a front four of (Rajiv) van La Parra, (Leon) Clarke, Sako and Dicko with James Henry and Danny Graham coming off."
