Wolves have ended their pursuit of Northampton striker Ivan Toney, manager Kenny Jackett has confirmed.

Toney was expected to move to Molineux after holding talks with the Sky Bet Championship club, but Jackett has confirmed the deal will not go through.

"We had some interest in Toney but that has gone now and we move on," he told the Wolverhampton Express & Star.

"It looks highly unlikely that we will add to the squad today (Thursday)."

Toney has scored nine goals for Northampton - six this season, including one in their 3-2 League Cup win at Wolves in August.

Wolves had already loaned out Kevin Foley to Blackpool until January but Michael Jacobs is likely to stay at Molineux despite interest from Birmingham.
