Sky Sports understands Wolves are closing in on the signing of Icelandic hot-shot Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson.

A number of clubs have been chasing the Lillestrom hit-man, but Wolves are in pole position to bring the 21-year-old to England.

New Wolves boss Stale Solbakken has made Sigurdarson one of his top targets this summer and he is hopeful of persuading the player to make the move to Molineux.

Sigurdarson is regarded as one of the best young strikers in Europe after netting 11 goals in 13 games for Lillestrom this season.

Lillestrom are resigned to losing Sigurdarson and Wolves are thought to have made a firm enquiry to the Norwegian club for the player.

Talks between both clubs are ongoing and Wolves are keen to tie up a deal quickly to fend off any late interest in Sigurdarson.
