Kevin McDonald faces a race against time to be fit for Sheffield United's League One play-off final against Huddersfield.

The midfielder will undergo intensive treatment on his injured hamstring after failing to reappear for the second half of Monday's semi-final victory over Stevenage. Blades boss Danny Wilson told the Sheffield Star: "We gave Macca a test before the game and decided we could risk it. "In the event, though, we needed everyone to be 100 per cent fit." Should the former Scotland Under-21 international fail to make it, long-serving midfielder Nick Montgomery is set to deputise following a seven-week absence.
