Terry Connor remains confident that Wolves can avoid the drop after the 5-0 defeat at Craven Cottage but knows it is vital to bounce back quickly.

Wolves boss confident of survival despite Fulham loss

Terry Connor remains confident that Wolves can avoid relegation following the heavy defeat at Craven Cottage but knows it is important to bounce back quickly. Wolves slipped into the bottom three after being demolished 5-0 by a rampant Fulham side on Sunday, with Pavel Pogrebnyak hitting a hat-trick and Clint Dempsey also on target twice. Connor accepts that a team in Wolves' position will be left with a 'bloody nose' from time to time, and feels the players cannot allow their heads to drop. Fellow strugglers Blackburn are the visitors to Molineux on Saturday in what will be a crucial encounter in the scrap for survival. Connor is determined to pick up three points and help propel Wolves towards safety, having taken belief from the previous two Premier League campaigns. "I thought we played well for the whole game at Newcastle and found ourselves 2-0 down like we did today," Connor said after the match with Fulham.

Stick together

"We're always going to get a bloody nose now and again. We're not the best team in the league and we're always going to get beat now and again. "For me, it is how we bounce back from these things and certainly when we get back in tomorrow we will be positive and try to work ourselves towards Blackburn on Saturday and go into it ready to win it. "We do get beat and we do work at that end of the table so we know we will get beat. "We know we will be in the bottom three at times, but we have done it for two years now. "We have managed to work, stick together and come out the other end and be in the Premier League. We want to do that for the third year running."
