Ferguson confirms keeper does not want to sign a new contract

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak does not want to sign another contract at the club. Kuszczak originally joined United on loan from West Bromwich Albion in 2006 before making the move to Old Trafford permanent the following year. However, the Poland international has never been first choice during his time with the Red Devils and has not made a first-team appearance this season. He now appears to be fourth choice in Ferguson's plans behind David de Gea, Anders Lindegaard and Ben Amos, and is out of contract at the end of the season. With De Gea and Lindegaard both injured for the midweek win over Stoke City, Kuszczak was forced to settle for a place on the bench after Amos was handed his Premier League debut. United boss Ferguson has now confirmed that the 29-year-old will be leaving the club in the summer in order to secure regular first-team football. "We have Tomasz Kuszczak but his contract is up in the summer and he doesn't want to sign another," said Ferguson. "Tomasz wants regular football." Kuszczak was disappointed not to secure a move away from United last summer after being linked with a return to former club West Brom. He was a loan target for Leeds United in the autumn and has recently been linked with a move to CSKA Moscow, with Russian clubs still able to bring in new signings.
