Wolves boss Mick McCarthy admitted everything which could have gone against his side did in a dramatic second half as Aston Villa grabbed the points in a thrilling 3-2 win.
The returning Robbie Keane was back to haunt his former side as the on-loan Los Angeles Galaxy striker's double helped Villa to come from behind and secure the points at Molineux.
Darren Bent's early penalty had been cancelled out by goals from Michael Kightly and Dave Edwards before the Republic of Ireland international struck.
Wolves had been reduced to 10 men with 15 minutes remaining after midfielder Karl Henry kicked out at winger Marc Albrighton and received a red card.
And McCarthy told
Sky Sports: "The second (Villa) goal was a key moment in it. I think we had five or six little things that we could have done far better and could have ended up in the net.
"Then we have an influential player in Emmanuel Frimpong carried off. We thought he put in an outstanding performance. He's an outstanding young player and then Karl Henry getting sent-off and ending up with a wonder strike from Robbie Keane, so I guess that was sod's law."
The hosts produced a superb 25-minute spell in the first half in which they fought back from one goal down to lead 2-1 at the break and McCarthy felt they have not played better all season than in that short period.
Chances
He said: "We had the opportunities there to put a couple of other goals in. I know there were chances either end but when we were dominant during that spell and got back to 2-1, we had a couple that rolled across the box rather than nestle in the back of the net.
"I thought we could have done better with those chances and then at 2-1, we never got hold of the ball and loads of little errors which cost us a goal and then the sending-off cost us the game."
Asked if he had any complaints about the sending-off, he added: "No. I think Karl (Henry) said he kicked out but I thought Karl was fouled beforehand, but that doesn't excuse him kicking out. If he has, it's daft and it's cost us the game."
