Sheffield Wednesday have extended Wolves defender Danny Batth's loan spell until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old central defender, who had a spell on loan at Hillsborough last season, rejoined the club over the summer for half the season and will now stay with the Owls until May 2012.

Batth said: "I'm delighted. I was here at the back end of last season and the first half of this season so I've managed to be around while the team has developed and I think I've played a good part in that, so to extend the deal is something I'm happy about.

"I think there are things we can work on, but we're going well. We're in a good position at the moment in the league and as a group we look like we are getting stronger every day.

"We're keeping everything as consistent as ever in preparation for the Christmas period and just focusing on ourselves and what we're doing to keep our run going."

Batth has been an ever-present in Wednesday's defence this season, starting all 21 league games. He has made a total of 33 appearances for the club in total.
