Wolves defender believes team-mate will fight to earn his place

Wolves' veteran centre-back Jody Craddock believes that fellow defender Roger Johnson can bounce back after being dropped from the first-team. The former Cardiff man is expected to be part of the starting line-up that will play Manchester United on Saturday after Craddock sustained a hamstring tear during the 2-1 victory against Sunderland last weekend. Wolves boss Mick McCarthy spent £4.5million to sign Johnson from Birmingham but he has not been playing to his full potential recently which has led to him being axed, yet despite this Craddock has faith in his team-mate. "It was a big decision to drop Roger because the gaffer brought Roger in and made him captain," said Craddock. "That's football. He wouldn't have bought him if he wasn't a top-calibre player who could come in and do a job. "I'm sure Roger was frustrated to have been dropped - just as any player would - but I'm sure he'll be fine. It's always hard going to a new club, settling in and trying to be worthy of that position. "But he's a professional, he'll go about his job the right way and he'll work at it, because that's all he can do."
