Wolves have been hit by the news that young midfielder Mark Davies will miss the start of the season through injury, but better news comes as striker Craig Davies has joined the club on loan.
18-year-old midfielder Davies was carried off during Wolves' friendly defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday, and boss Mick McCarthy says it could be a cartilage injury.
"We suspect it may be a cartilage injury and we're hoping he won't need a little operation," said McCarthy.
"It might be three weeks before he's back or it might be six weeks - we'll just have to see how things progress."
Some more encouraging news for McCarthy is the addition of striker Craig Davies to his squad, after the Welshman arrived on loan from Italian side Verona.
20-year-old Davies, who had been training with Northampton Town this pre-season, will finalise his deal later in the week but was shown off at Molineux on Monday with fellow new signing Jamie Clapham.
McCarthy is also looking at a couple more possible new recruits on trial.
Le Havre's French midfielder Alexis Bertin is joined by Roda JC's Gambian wide man Edrissa Sonko in trying to impress McCarthy enough to earn a move to the Championship outfit.
