Clingan back at Saltergate

Chesterfield have brought Wolves midfielder Sammy Clingan back on loan.

Chesterfield have brought Wolves midfielder Sammy Clingan back on loan to the League One club.

The 21-year-old spent time on loan with The Spireites last season and was the subject of summer transfer bids from the Saltergate club and League One rivals Doncaster Rovers.

Having just recovered from a recent wrist injury, Clingan returns to the North Derbyshire outfit for a six-month loan spell.

Chesterfield boss Roy McFarland will be delighted to have the services of the Molineux youngster for the first half of the current campaign.

Another player that the Black Country club have made available for loan is goalkeeper Carl Ikeme.

Ikeme spent time on loan at Accrington Stanley and is well down the custodial pecking order at Wolves, with Michael Oakes and on-loan Stefan Postma ahead of the 19-year-old for first team selection.

Two players that have left Chesterfield for loan spells is midfielder Anthony Jubb and striker Michael Fox, with the pair joining non-league side Belper Town for a month.
