WOLVES boss Dave Jones is looking to further bolster his squad this week with the double capture of Manchester City defender Lucien Mettomo and Rennes midfielder Olivier Echouafni.

Despite bringing in seven new faces to Molineux during the summer, the former Southampton boss is keen to secure the services of the two players before the new season kicks off next Saturday.

Mettomo joined City from St Etienne in September 2001 but has made just 31 appearances in his two seasons at the club

He has fallen out of favour with Kevin Keegan in recent times and Jones is keen to take the player to the West Midlands.

However, Bundesliga club 1860 Munich and Le Championnat side Guingamp have also expressed an interest in the 26-year-old.

Midfielder Echouafni is currently at Molineux and should complete his move to the Premiership new boys later this week.

"Olivier is with us to work out and we will make a decision on him by Thursday or Friday," said chief executive Jez Moxey.

"He is here to train and we are having a look at him. We have been offered him and he fits the bill for what we want.

"He is not a bad age. We are aware of his record. He comes recommended to us. We don't yet know how much he would cost, but we are talking to his club."

On Mettomo he added: "We're still talking to City and I wouldn't say it's cut and dried."
