MARK KENNEDY has been forced out of Republic of Ireland's clash against Scotland while Alan Maybury has replaced formed Leeds United team-mate Gary Kelly in the squad.

Wolves winger Kennedy is suffering from a tight hamstring which has been plaguing him for several weeks.

Molineux boss Dave Jones confirmed Kennedy's absence from Wednesday's friendly and revealed a visit to the specialist is in store for the wide man.

"Sparky has had a problem with his hamstring for some time now," stated Jones.

"We sent him over to Germany to see a specialist and he cured it but it seems like it's time for Mark to see him again."

Hearts full back Maybury was added to the squad to tackle the Scots by new coach Brian Kerr, who worked with the player at youth level.

Maybury fills the void created by Leeds defender Kelly's decision to withdraw after he complained of shin splints after his team's weekend victory over West Ham.
