Callum McManaman's increased maturity in the face of some rough treatment this season has left his manager Uwe Rosler impressed.

It is no secret that the 23-year-old winger is one of Latics' biggest threats, as he showcased on the biggest stage in the club's three FA Cup games at Wembley in 2013 and 2014.

Rosler believes McManaman's talent, allied with his competitive nature, has led to other teams believing they can disrupt the wide-man with a string of fouls.

However, McManaman's ability to rise above such tactics has impressed his boss.

"Knowing his temperament I can assume that people will try to wind him up, will try to get stuck into him," said Rosler.

"Callum has matured and shown me, especially in the last weeks, that I can play him not just in home games, but also away from home.

"His performance at Derby was a very reliable, good performance - going forward and following the tactics, being disciplined and doing the job for the team.

"We are working on those issues also in terms of keeping your cool, being prepared for what people try to do to you and just being prepared for that and then coping with this."
