England boss Roy Hodgson names his squad for the European qualifiers against San Marino and Estonia on Thursday and one player hoping for a call is West Brom’s Saido Berahino.

The 21-year-old striker has been in fine form for Albion this season with five goals in eight appearances and he netted twice in the 4-0 home victory over Burnley on Sunday.

Berahino also has an excellent goalscoring record for the England U21 side with eight goals in 11 appearances.

If it doesn't happen now, it's not the end of the world. I've still got a long way to go.

He has been tipped for a place in Hodgson’s squad for the game against San Marino at Wembley next Thursday and the clash with Estonia in Talinn three days’ later, especially with Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge rated a doubt.

Berahino has set his sights on winning a full England cap, although he insists West Brom’s Premier League trip to Liverpool is his main priority at present.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: "Of course, I would love to be involved with the seniors. That's one of the ambitions I do have.

"I just try my best every weekend to try and perform at my best and hopefully one day I will get that call-up.

"If it doesn't happen now, it's not the end of the world. I've still got a long way to go, a lot to learn as a striker, so I'm just focusing on the Liverpool game and letting my football do the talking."
