West Brom have made loan bids for Marseille duo Jordan Ayew and Morgan Amalfitano, Sky Sports sources understand.
Amalfitano, 28, the older brother of Newcastle's Roman, is a France international but he does not appear to be in the plans of Marseille coach Elie Baup.
Now West Brom are hoping to agree a loan deal and persuade Amalfitano to join his brother in England.
The Baggies are also keen on 21-year-old striker Ayew, who is a Ghana international and is also on the fringes of the first-team picture at the Stade Velodrome.
With Nicolas Anelka currently on compassionate leave, Steve Clarke is hoping to bolster his offensive options and both Ayew and Amalfitano would do that.
It is also believed that West Ham have an expressed an interest in the pair.
