Sky Sports understands Zoltan Gera is poised to sign a new deal to stay at West Brom.
Gera's deal at West Brom expired earlier this summer, but the club invited the Hungarian to join them for pre-season training.
The 34-year-old, who is still working his way back to full fitness after suffering a cruciate knee injury in January, is believed to have impressed Baggies boss Steve Clarke during pre-season.
A number of clubs are thought to be monitoring Gera's situation, but the player has always indicated he hoped to win a new deal with West Brom
Clarke is now ready to hand the former Fulham man a new one-year deal as he feels he can prove a valuable member of his squad.
