West Brom manager Steve Clarke is desperate for Albion to rediscover the momentum that carried them to third place in the Premier League in early December.

Since the 4-2 win at Sunderland on 24 November the Baggies have won just two out of nine league games and are now in seventh place in the standings.

Clarke's men tackle struggling Aston Villa on Saturday, with the West Brom boss eager to get back to winning ways in the derby battle.

He said: "We want to finish top dogs in the midlands. It will please me if we finish the season towards the top end of the table and in and around where we are now.

"The last few results have been disappointing for us. The last few performances haven't been so disappointing but ultimately it is a results driven industry and we haven't got the points we need.

"We are all disappointed we haven't pushed on a little bit and we are not even higher in the table than we are just now.

"The best thing to do is to put that right tomorrow with a good performance and result.

"I've got a squad of players hungry and ready to go out and put right a few wrongs and you are playing for your supporters, the bragging rights.

"But it wouldn't matter who the game was against because we are looking to inject some impetus into our season, to get ourselves going again."
