Steve Clarke always felt West Bromwich Albion could score against Tottenham Hotspur after James Morrison notched a last-gasp equaliser.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto's 74th minute goal appeared set to hand Andre Villas-Boas his first win as Spurs boss until Morrison popped up in the last minute.
Morrison had turned his ankle in the opening stages of the game and Clarke had considered bringing off the midfielder before his crucial intervention.
"We weren't sure whether he would continue," Clarke said.
"It did cross my mind to bring him off a couple of times, but you have to leave someone like James on the pitch because if you leave him on he can pop up with a goal and he did that.
"I never thought it wouldn't be our day today. I always thought we'd get another chance to score and we did."
The West Brom boss also praised the contributions of Romelu Lukaku and Shane Long after following up a win over Liverpool with the point at White Hart Lane.
He added: "We are pleased with Romelu. It's great that you can look to your bench and see people who can change a game and Romelu is one of them.
"He did a good job for me, but so did Shane Long. He had the hardest part of the game."
