Midfielder reunites with former Baggies No.2 Appleton

Teenage midfielder George Thorne has rejoined Championship strugglers Portsmouth on a one-month loan deal from West Brom. The 19-year-old returns for his second loan spell at Fratton Park this term after making four appearances for Pompey earlier in the season before being recalled as cover for injuries by the Baggies just before Christmas. During his first stint at the club he helped them to wins over Coventry and Burnley, as well as draws with Leicester and local rivals Southampton. Manager and former Albion assistant boss Michael Appleton drafted the England Under-20s midfielder straight into his line-up for Saturday's Championship trip to Barnsley to ease his selection woes. Portsmouth are currently hovering just above the drop zone having been deducted 10 points this week for going into administration for the second time in two years.
