Striker rules out loan exit

West Brom striker Simon Cox insists he wants to stay and fight for his place at the Hawthorns. Cox has been linked with a loan move away from the Baggies after making just a two-minute substitute appearance in the Premier League this term. The striker is behind Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie in Roy Hodgson's pecking order, but Cox is waiting for his chance to stake a claim for a regular spot in the side. "The reason I'm not playing at club level is because we've got so many good players at the club," Cox told the Birmingham Mail. "It just isn't my time at the moment. That will come. "I'm a patient sort of person, it just depends how long I can be patient for before it makes me decide if it's best for me to stay or leave. "That's a long time down the road yet and I'm happy to fight for my place. With Shane (Long) having come in and done so well so far, it's been good for us."
