Ivory Coast man back in France following free transfer

Abdoulaye Meite has expressed his delight at joining Ligue 1 new boys Dijon after leaving West Brom. The 30-year-old Ivory Coast international and former Marseille man spent the past three seasons with the Baggies after two years with Bolton. Meite has now returned to France and is looking forward to working with the club's head coach Patrice Carteron, who had a loan spell with Sunderland in 2001. "It's a beautiful project that Dijon have offered me," he told the club's official website. "I already knew the coach, and I got to know the president today. Already I can say that he's someone I like. "Dijon's project is very interesting. I'm convinced that as things are we can do something good here."
