Goalkeeper Marton Fulop has revealed he choose to join Ipswich in order to play first-team football.
The Hungary international joined Roy Keane's Championship outfit from Sunderland during the summer transfer window, signing a two-year contract with the Tractor boys.
The 27-year-old, who had previous loan spells at Stoke and Manchester City admits he preferred to join the Portman Road side instead of clubs from the Premier League and Primera Division.
Fulop, who last played in the Championship back in 2007 for Leicester, exclusively told
skysports.com: "I think I made a good decision by signing for Ipswich.
"I needed this chance very much. Roy Keane has been coaxing me during the whole summer and it was very important point in my decision.
Great traditions
"I felt he really wanted to sign me and he did everything in order to get me.
"Ipswich is a club with great traditions. The training facilities are like a Premier League club.
"I had offers from other Premier League clubs, but I wasn't guaranteed a place in the first XI.
"The offer from Ipswich was the perfect one for me."
Fulop also admits he was close to agreeing a deal to sign for an unnamed Spanish club before opting to join Ipswich.
The 'keeper also denies there was a firm offer from Roberto Mancini to bring him back to Eastlands, where he spent the back end of last season on loan.
"I had interest from the Primera Division, but the two clubs couldn't agree about my price," he said.
"There was not any serious approach from City because I stated that I wanted to sign for a club where I would be a first-choice keeper."
