West Brom striker Sherjill MacDonald has joined Belgian side Roeselare on loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Belgian side also swoop for Gommans

West Brom striker Sherjill MacDonald has joined Belgian side Roeselare on loan with a view to a permanent deal. Roeselare have also swooped for Roda JC forward Harrie Gommans and confirmed the arrival of the duo on their official website. Holland Under-21 international MacDonald is on the fringes of Tony Mowbray's first-team plans at the Hawthorns and has made just six substitute appearances all season. The former Anderlecht youngster moved to the Hawthorns from Dutch Second Division side AGOVV Apeldoorn on an initial loan deal before making the switch permanent in January 2008. MacDonald impressed during a month-long loan deal with Hereford last year, scoring six times in seven league outings. Roeselare's Dutch coach Dennis van Wijk has moved to bolster his squad as he looks to lift the club away from the foot of the table. Gommans has also signed on an initial loan deal with a view to a permanent move after struggling to make his mark with Roda JC following his summer move from Vitesse.
