West Brom have signed Bury teenager David Worrall for an initial £50,000.
Worrall has joined the Baggies on a scholarship deal until the end of the season after impressing during a week's trial with the club.
The 16-year-old impressed Baggies boss Tony Mowbray during his time at the Hawthorns and he will sign a three-year deal on his 17th birthday in June.
Mowbray was delighted to land Worrall and claims West Brom beat a host of Premiership clubs to the midfielder's signature.
"David is a young boy who came to our attention. We invited him down for a week's training and he showed his potential," Mowbray told the club's official website.
"We've reached a financial agreement with Bury and we're delighted he's coming on board.
"David had considerable interest from top Premiership clubs but he enjoyed his week with us and decided we were the club he wanted to join.
"He'll hopefully be one for the future who will flourish in the environment at the football club."
