Curtis Davies is hopeful his foot injury will only sideline him for a week.

The defender limped out of West Brom's win over Luton on Friday after landing awkwardly on his foot.

There were fears that Davies had suffered a recurrence of an old foot injury, but an X-ray showed no damage.

The Baggies are set to send the defender for a scan to confirm the initial diagnosis, but Davies is positive that he will be out for just a matter of days.

Expanding on how he picked up his injury, Davies told Soccer AM: "I just went over on my foot. It was just a niggle, but it is the foot I have done before so I went straight off for an X-ray.

"It was clear so I think it is just a bit of bruising and stress.

"I went in for a header and all his (Warren Feeney) weight has gone onto my foot. I gave it five minutes to see if it cleared up, but I thought it was best to come off rather than have six weeks out.

"Hopefully a week's rest will do it, but I will maybe need another scan."
