Bryan Robson is delighted with how quickly summer signing John Hartson has settled in at West Bromwich Albion.

Hartson secured a two-year contract at The Hawthorns last month after West Brom paid £500,000 to Celtic for the striker.

The 31-year-old grabbed his first goal for The Baggies in Sunday's pre-season friendly win over Motherwell.

The Wales international's form has buoyed his manager, with Robson expressing his satisfaction with Hartson's early performances.

"I'm really pleased with the way John Hartson has settled in," Robson told Sky Sports News.

"He is leading the line very well and he is bringing players in to the game.

"That's pleasing that he's in good form."

Premiership target Curtis Davies missed the game at Fir Park with a groin complaint, with Robson admitting the defender is currently his only injury concern.

Robson added: "Curtis Davies, I had to leave him out today. He's got a bit of a groin injury which he has had in the summer.

"It's not too bad, but I needed to rest him. Other than that, the players are coming through pre-season well at the moment."
