The Baggies looked to be dead and buried this time last year, until a late surge, coupled with results elsewhere going in their favour on the last day of the season, ensured their status in the top flight.
This season Albion are in a better position, but are still involved in a three-way tussle for survival with Birmingham and Portsmouth.
West Brom can enhance their chances of avoiding the drop with victory at Tottenham on Monday, and Kuszczak believes that the game could provide a springboard for their remaining seven games.
"I'm really optimistic," the Polish goalkeeper told Sky Sports News. "I think we will stay in The Premiership. Why not?
"Last season was difficult, really crazy for us, but in the last two or three games we did it and stayed up.
"This season we are playing better and are a better team. I'm sure we'll stay in The Premiership.
"This is a game (against Spurs) like any other game, like a cup final or something like that. We will try and take points from Tottenham.
"We go to fight and want to show against Tottenham that we want to stay in The Premiership and are good enough to play in The Premiership next year."
