West Brom goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak could heading for the World Cup, with news that Poland's goalkeeping coach Jacek Kazimierski will be in attendance at Saturday's game with Blackburn.

Kuszczak was also watched in midweek against Charlton and impressed having kept a clean sheet at The Valley.

The 23-year-old has previously played twice for his country and is now desperate to impress with the World Cup on the horizon.

Such has been Kuszczak's form of late that England prospect Chris Kirkland has been left a frustrated observer on the sidelines, with the talented Pole aware that he must continue to perform if he is to go to Germany in the summer.

"I had a call from Mr Kazimierski who told me he was planning a trip to England this week,'' said Kuszczak

"He telephoned to say he would probably be at the Charlton game and definitely will be at the Blackburn match.

"This is a big opportunity for me. I'm delighted that I've got a chance to get back into my country's squad. I know I cannot afford to let myself down on Saturday.

"Like any player, it would be a dream to play in the World Cup finals and that would be great for me, especially as until recently, I wasn't even playing for my club."
