Norwich hope to rush through a deal before the transfer deadline after agreeing a fee of £3.5 million with West Bromwich Albion for unsettled striker Robert Earnshaw

Despite Baggies manager Bryan Robson's claims on Monday that Earnshaw would remain at The Hawthorns a deal may now be in the offing for the former Cardiff striker.

Robson's counterpart Nigel Worthington is believed to have already agreed terms with Earnshaw, who was expected to be on the substitutes bench for Albion's match at Charlton.

The move is now subject to Earnshaw passing a medical before Tuesday's midnight deadline.

The Canaries will fund the bid for Earnshaw from the proceeds of the sale of Dean Ashton to West Ham earlier in the month.
