Watson set for Baggies return

West Brom defender Steve Watson is set to return to action at Wigan on Sunday.

West Brom defender Steve Watson is set to return to action at Wigan on Sunday.

The 31-year-old missed the FA Cup game against Reading at the weekend after suffering a badly bruised foot in the derby clash with Aston Villa earlier in the month.

He has now returned to full training though, and is confident of being fit for the clash at The JJB Stadium

"I had bone bruising on my right foot from the Villa game. I kicked the bottom of someone's studs and got booked for it as well," he recalled.

"I had an X-ray and thankfully it wasn't broken. It was severe bruising right on the part of the foot where I kick the ball.

"I trained on Monday and Tuesday and I'll train the rest of the week. Hopefully it should be okay for the Wigan game."
