Zoltan Gera was delighted to come through West Brom's game against Reading.West Brom midfielder Zoltan Gera was delighted to come through the FA Cup game against Reading on his return from injury.
The Hungarian came on as a late substitute and instantly fired The Baggies ahead with a penalty, only to see Reading equalise with a spot-kick of their own moments later.
"After my cross Horsfield was pushed off the ball and the referee pointed to the spot immediately," Gera recalled.
"And then I shot so well that the keeper couldn't save. It was just a pity that two minutes later Reading got a penalty too so the match had to go to a replay."
The 27-year-old conceded that he did not play his best, but was extremely relieved to be back on the comeback trail.
"I wasn't on my best form. I need matches but I'm trying to be like I was in the past," he explained.
"I still feel a bit of pain on my thigh but it should be okay for the next game. Fortunately it didn't disturb me during the game."
